ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, I’m Amy!

I’m the creative force behind Amy Rice Artworks and I believe that color has the power to change lives. I also believe that each day is a gift and a new chance for us to intentionally chose to live more colorful and joyful lives.

This is what inspired me to launch Amy Rice ArtWorks. I want to create beautiful products that will help inspire YOU to add more color and joy to your life. And then to spread that joy to others around you.

So what’s my style? I’m best known for my eclectic blend of colorful, geometric and botanically-inspired artwork. Each piece starts with an original photograph, painting or sketch. Then I hop over into my digital darkroom and use a bit of creative magic to bring my designs and multi-media artwork to life.

How did I get here? Well…I’m a life-long learner and a self-taught artist. I was raised on a farm in the Midwest (Iowa) and later traveled the world while working as public health professional and data visualization guru before putting down roots in the Mid-Atlantic region. These days I live in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with my husband, my son, and an ever-expanding collection of visually inspiring books.

When I’m not hard at work in my art studio you can find me outside reading a book while drinking coffee, off riding my bike, or visiting some garden in search of new color inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by!
